Valentine Mk. IX
This project dates back years when I used to hop on Skype calls with Adam Wilder and we would talk models, exchange ideas, etc. One night, Adam sent me a photo of a Lend-Lease Valentine Mk. IX with completely mangled fenders, a fuel drum in the back, and some tree branches as improvised camouflage, saying this is a model he’d like to build one day.
Years passed, and Adam didn’t post any Valentines, so I thought it was as good time as any to try building it myself. There is a beautiful kit from Bronco with full interior and amazing details, but I also needed photo-etched fenders, and those were only designed for the Tamiya Mk. IV kit. Don’t get me wrong, most of the time photo-etch fits different kits, but fenders are specific. If they’re designed to fit a Tamiya kit, chances are there would be some problems if I tried to glue them to a Bronco hull. So I didn’t want to take any chances and bought a Tamiya kit as well.
