Syrian BMP-1

I bought this model as a fresh release from Trumpeter, and it came with functional, click-together tracks straight from the box! It was at that time when the war in Syria was picking up steam and the internet was becoming flooded with photos from the conflict. When I looked past the terrible things that were happening there, it was my first modelling experience with a modern conflict – a situation where you can get your “daily dose” of reference images, so to speak. In high resolution and full color, something I wasn’t used to before that.

This BMP-1 caught my eye for its beaten-up camouflage and a massive stain of grime coming from the exhaust. I added details and inscriptions from other vehicles on the back and the left side.
