Sturmtiger
Sturmtigers were always cool, but in an awkward, nerdy way. I mean, if you take a Tiger 1 hull and slap THAT THING on top of it, what do you expect, right?
Anyway, this model was a spontaneous idea when I realized that my planned huge project for the summer would indeed become too huge, and I started looking for something more manageable. I stumbled across a famous photograph of a knocked-out Sturmtiger that was salvaged by the US Army in Oberembt, Germany, on February 26th, 1945.
The kit has a partial interior of the fighting compartment, just enough to be visible through the large, open hatches. Building a German tank with handmade Zimmerit, damaged PE, shell impacts, and all the other good stuff was so much fun. The traditional 3-tone camouflage was such a blast, although the weathering felt a bit overwhelming at times.
