I remember when this model came out. I was so excited about it, and when I saw that a model store in our capital had it, I took my friend on a short car trip. We got stuck in a traffic jam and the store was about to be closed, so I called them, begging them to wait for me, and put the model aside. I was absolutely beside myself with excitement once I got my hands on it. And then, the story ended there for a few years…

In the meantime, I got to know a fellow WW1 enthusiast who had access to a professional stencil machine, and he helped me with the production of my own custom stencils for the A7V hull nr. 540 nicknamed “Heiland”. The sloppy crosses, numbers, and the large sad skull on the front were just so good! And then, the model rested for a few more years…

Until I started making videos and tried my first epoxy resin water diorama with a wrecked Mark IV tank from Tamiya. That project reminded me how much fun WW1 tanks can be, and the A7V was waiting patiently in my stash… it was the perfect moment to get it built and painted. Finally!

This model is now a part of my “Savior” diorama.
