This facade was a quick holiday project for me—no filming, no YouTube video, just fun during the Christmas holidays.

It’s based on a real building located in Veľké Uherce, Slovakia. I noticed it one day when I was driving through the village and once I got home, I looked it up on Google Street View, took some screenshots, and saved them for future reference. The building is so quirky and bizarre, but I thought it would be too boring for a YouTube video. However, it’s small and simple enough for a quick, relaxing project.

It’s basically an old single-story house that was converted into a floor-and-door store. The exterior was quickly and cheaply “renovated” with wooden planks painted in white, and the advertising sign was most likely cut from styrofoam and painted. Of course, the real building is in a much better state, but that would be boring! Creating the heavy paint-chipping effects on the weathered wood was the main fun factor of this project.

It took me slightly over a week to create this facade, and that includes the festive season – family visits, unwrapping Christmas presents, and all the other good stuff that comes with the holidays!

And because most of the facade is white, including the pale concrete “base”, I decided to call the whole piece “White”.
