Diana – Old Distillery
The reference image for this facade comes from Emmanuel Nouaillier’s book. It appears in one of the early chapters dedicated to weathered concrete. Since I saw it for the first time, it just fascinated me.
After I finished my Sturmtiger diorama and put the video together, my studio was a mess. My fiancé was already asleep so I didn’t want to cause a ruckus in the studio, but at the same time, I was hyped up and ready to start creating something new. So I just sat at the computer and started doing some basic 3D modelling in Fusion and Blender. A week or so later, I knew the basics, and this facade is the result of that process. The basic shapes and volumes were all modeled in Fusion360, and then I imported the individual STL files into Blender where I textured them in the Sculpt Mode using alphas – texture brushes that can be bought online and are basically brushes created from real photographs of various textures. I used stone, concrete, and wood textures to finish this facade.
It was printed at a 70-degree angle on my Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra 16K from 3DJake 8K High-Detail Resin. Painting it according to the original photograph was so chill and fun!
